If you drove around my neighborhood you would see several houses with gorgeous front yards. My neighbors have spent countless weekends making the front of their houses look inviting, appealing, and amazing.
In contrast, many of these same neighbors have done nothing to their backyards. They have completely neglected their backyards leaving them unkempt and overgrown.
POINT: As leaders we tend to focus on what people see (front yard) and neglect the unseen (backyard). We do things to make ourselves look inviting, appealing, and amazing...but fail to focus on our "backyards". Great leaders understand the importance of having "yards" that are in alignment or reflect one another.
CHALLENGE: Spend some time developing both the seen (actions) and unseen (character) areas of your leadership.
